Michael Bruce Piereson

Michael (Mike) Bruce Piereson passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the age of 78.  He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Harvey C. Piereson and Frances (Vander Hyde) Piereson. He grew up in Detroit, Michigan where he attended Mackenzie High School.  During his youth, he developed an interest in sailing and the visual arts which evolved into life-long passions.  After earning an accounting degree from Michigan State University, Mike married his wife of 55 years, Suzanne.  Mike and Suzanne moved to Dayton, Ohio after graduation where he worked in computer programming for the U.S. Air Force and later for National Cash Register.  While working full time, Mike earned advanced degrees in Engineering and Information Technology from the University of Dayton.  Upon graduation, Mike and Suzanne moved back to Michigan so Mike could take a job working in Information Technology for Ford Motor Company where he enjoyed a career of over 30 years. They raised their two sons Brad and Scott.

In 2002, Mike retired from Ford and he and Suzanne moved to Richland, Michigan where he was able to pursue and enjoy his passions, Family, Art, Sailing. 

Mike is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harvey Piereson Jr., and grandson, Andrew Piereson.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Suzanne, sons Brad (Christine) Piereson and Scott (Tricia) Piereson, grandson, Connor Piereson, and siblings: Raymond Piereson, Judith Lang, Mary Piereson and Ellen Moore.

In accordance with Mike’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services have not yet been planned.
