Sailor

Lifetime of sailing

Mike was introduced to sailing by his older brother Harvey while in high school.  During college, he worked and lived aboard a large motor sailor named Teragram. It was docked at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club and owned by Paul Smiley who was a mentor of Mike’s.  Throughout his life Mike enjoyed pleasure cruising and racing aboard various sailing vessels.  During the summer he used to cruise the North Channel Islands in Canada with his family aboard a C&C 34 then a C&C 41 which were owned by Jim Mullany and Steve Calworth.
